Tarpon fishing really peaks in the half hour before and after sunset. I know there are alot of guys that swear by sunrise sessions, but one of the major problems I have with sunrise sessions is that we are prepping and scouting in the dark, and if you miss the bite, you are running from the sunrise, as opposed to fishing the afternoon session when you have the afternoon to prep and scout, and then can chase the sunset, and continue to stay on the fish after it gets dark. So for me the late afternoon session is perfect, and I’m not rushing or struggling to get bait in the dark. Good luck out there.
